Description
In celebration of Día de los Muertos, the ofrenda exhibit examining Species in Peril along the Rio Grande was installed by the National Hispanic Cultural Center in partnership with 516 ARTS.

The exhibit was to dedicated to the “Species in Peril” along the Rio Grande in partnership with 516 ARTS. Alija honored Black Latine ancestors and multispecies guides.

Visualizing endangered aquatic animals and plants while reimagining ancestral embodiments rooted in Afroecological traditions using wood, ink, acrylic, and canvas.

The ofrendas were exhibited throughout the Domenici Education Building and the Roy E. Disney Performing Arts Center.
